Founder Jim Smith opened his first store in 1975 at Alderley, on the North side of Brisbane. The shop was so small that the carpet had to be rolled out into the street to be cut for his customers. Based on the core value of customer service 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, Smith quickly expanded opening more stores throughout Brisbane. Carpet Call became a house hold name in the 80’s with the “Call, Call Carpet Call“ jingle. Carpet Call now has more than 70 stores across Australia.
